Christos Athanassas founded the executive search firm HR Exsel in Greece in 1981, which joined Amrop in 1999.

Previously, Christos worked with a large industrial food and packaging company as General Manager.

He is a member of Amrop’s Energy & Utilities, Family Business, Professional Services and Automotive & Industrial Practice Groups, he plays an active role in business development and cross-border searches within the Group.

Throughout his long career in Executive Search, Christos has served a large number of local and international clients in the Manufacturing, Industrial, Energy, Telecom/Technology, FMCG, Retail and Life Sciences industries as well as Government organizations. He has contributed to the start-up of varied multinational firms in Greece and has provided consultancy services on organizational studies and processes for start-ups, management audits and executive coaching.

Christos has a Masters in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and speaks Greek and English.

He is married with two daughters and enjoys traveling and cultivating wine.
