In addition to executive search, Patrick's career covers nearly 25 years of cross-functional experience in Industrial Human Resources, Operations, IT Business Systems and Industrial Health and Safety.
Patrick has helped to transform major publicly-traded corporations and leadership teams such as Cooper Industries, Brady Corporation and Alpha Natural Resources from the inside. His deep understanding of stakeholder needs in executive recruitment comes from a unique perspective gained through experience as a senior executive and CHRO of major corporations, as well as his tenure as an executive recruiter at a boutique search firm and most recently on his own as Ference Partners.
Patrick began his career as a Safety Engineer at Alcoa, then as a Manager of Industrial Relations at Dana Corporation. He spent the majority of his career at Cooper Industries – now Eaton – in Human Resources positions of increasing responsibility. Patrick also performed as CHRO for both the Brady Corporation and Alpha Natural Resources before he moved into retained executive search.
Patrick was awarded his Bachelor's Degree in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also completed the Corporate Executive Program at the Jesse H Jones Graduate School of Management – Rice University
