Marko Mlakar is Managing Partner of Amrop Adria, responsible for business development and relationship management of largest clients in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia.

Prior to co-founding the local executive search firm, he served as a Commercial Counselor at the US Embassy in Slovenia, responsible for all commercial related matters between Slovenia and the US. He started his career in a large Slovenian engineering firm.

During the last ten years Marko completed over 500 search assignments in Adriatic region across a number of industries. He has specifically focused on IT, telecommunications, management consulting, financial services and media. The majority of his clients are multinational companies with regional aspirations. During the period 2007-2008 he served as a Board Member responsible for Europe at another executive search network where he worked on cross-border activities and client relationships.

Marko holds a MSc from the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics. He has completed a General Management Program at IEDC Bled and Amrop's Trusted Advisor Program at IMD.

He is fluent in Slovenian, English, Croatian and Serbian language.

He is a founder of The Expatriate Club, Vice President of Slovenian Tennis Association and President of International Lawn Tennis Club of Slovenia.
